Health & Wealth: Moss 4 Living

A brand created to restore, replinish, and uplift ourselves the Seamoss way!

What is seamoss?

Seamoss, scientifically named chrondris crispus is an algae that grows underwater. When soaked for twenty four hours, blended with your favorite fruits and supplements you have your seamoss smoothie.

Meet Marquieta,

the entrepreneurial spirit and marketing genius that founded Moss 4 Living. Born and raised in Prince George's county, Maryland, Marquieta has redefined dedication throughout her years in the field of holistic health. An author, an entrepreneur, influencer, healer, mother, and many more. Read all about Moss 4 Living in this episode of Health & Wealth.

"As I was growing up I wanted to be a teacher, I wanted to be a nurturer. I never would have imagined having my own business."

Her younger self would be proud to know the moves she made early on, such as uprooting her and her newborn daughter to D.C., or receiving a college degree in social work, or writing a single mother's guidebook would lead to these now moments!

Moss 4 Living allows Marquieta to expand on her nurturing abilities and even serves to educate collectives on alternative healing remedies with seamoss.

Marquieta discovered tools that aid in her health and wellness early on, such as shea butter, seamoss, and even personal training. As she grew to love these mediums of healthy living, she found it most natural to step into a role as the provider. In doing so she created a platform for her children, especially her son to embark on this entrepreneural journey.

Ingesting the seamoss lead to personal revelations. It may be because I was finally clear enough to receive certain information.

Learning how to use the Earth around us makes for the most resourceful, most natural healing modalities. Considering everyone may not be able to afford traditional medicines, or healthcare we look to our communities for assistance in hopes we have a Marquieta present.

"When I first started the seamoss business, it was a movement! I was taking pictures of each customer because they are also part of my journey."

Debunking Misconceptions

Q: What do you say to people who think you can't take seamoss daily?

A: Seamoss is a liquid vitamin, it is a supplement. You can never take too much of it. When you aren't taking your vitamins everyday the seamoss will serve as your liquid vitamins. It has the iron, zinc, magnesium, and more.

Q: Is there a such thing as too much seamoss?

A: No. There is no such thing as "too much seamoss". The recommended amount would be two tablespoons per servings. You can take this serving in the morning, afternoon, and evening time.

Q: What does seamoss taste like?

A: Seamoss gel tastes like unflavored jello. There are numerous ways you can take seamoss to eliminate the original taste.

Our lingering question of the day is, why is two tablespoons the recommended amount of seamoss? Could this be yet another misconception to delay our naturopathic healing? As we dive into the factors of this plant medicine it is also important to note the many ways in which you can ingest Seamoss.

Seamoss can be ingested through herbal teas, gummies, and more commonly smoothies. Moss 4 Living has a variety of nutritious seamoss smoothies! Some of my personal favorite flavors include, the Green Monster smoothie because of it's rivitalization to my spirit after a long day of work. Triple Berry smoothie which is made with raspberries, blueberries, black berries, and elderberry. Visit moss4living.com to find your favorite flavors!

MY POV

Organic seamoss has this natural, sea-like taste and smell. It has a thick consisteny to the gel which is not always the easiest to ingest. My personal favorite is when the seamoss is mixed with fruits, juices, and supplements like maca root, ginger, or chlorophyll. Seamoss usually serves to remove excess mucus from the body. It's my first offering to people who are dealing with inflammation, fatigue, mental or spiritual blockages, and even those who are looking to strengthen their immune systems.

I found working with Marquieta very inspirational. The resonance in her voice as she shared her passions struck a lightbulb in my mind of a concept called "Motivational Realism". One who relates to anothers journey by the coincidental factors, both of us being melanated women in the PG area, holistic practiciones, writers, readers, there was so many moments of reflection. There was moments of relativitity in which we both got ideas of another movement. This one article, blossomed into an entire series of Health & Wealth.

Along this entrepreneural journey, we inevitably begin realizing our multitude of gifts. We already understood ourselves as resourceful individuals but now we see ourselves as vessels for higher intelligience to work through us for the betterment of humanity. After high level conversations with Marquieta, regarding the healing work she is doing with her seamoss, both of us found a deeper purpose in our work. Holistic healing at some point becomes spiritual, even if it was not the original intent because it manifests such life affirming change. We become the bridge of intention to manifestation. As you tap in with Marquieta, Moss 4 Living or her book "Did Me and Paid For It" I hope that you're inspired to better, healthy living styles.
